  1. Andy says:

First off I should say that I’m not in the field! But I do know that it’s something that changes a lot and usually that kind of stuff you don’t really want a book, but a good website would be the best way to go since they get updated with new technologies and techniques. Hopefully the site would have a forum with good traffic so that you can ask questions and have them answered in a reasonable amount of time.

  2. KJ says:

    1. Head First Web Design by Ethan Watrall, Jeff Siarto

    2. Learning Web Design: A Beginner’s Guide to (X)HTML, StyleSheets, and Web Graphics by Jennifer Niederst Robbins and Aaron Gustafson

    3. The Web Designer’s Idea Book, Vol. 2: More of the Best Themes, Trends and Styles in Website Design by Patrick McNeil

Just remember to be successful you should diversify and offer your clients:

    – Web & Programming
    – Application Development
    – Application Management
    – Hosting & Infrastructure Management
    – Offshore Development Center
